Firefighter

Fidelity Group is hiring Firefighters to handle all types of fire emergencies.
The firefighters job involves rushing to fires and putting them out, rescuing people during emergencies, providing basic medical help, teaching fire safety, and keeping firefighting tools in good working order. Firefighters will also perform other related tasks needed to keep Fidelity Group’s clients safe from fires and other dangers.
Follow instructions in training, mock situations, and workouts.
Teach employees the knowledge and skills needed to handle fires.
Suggest ways to prevent problems and fix them.
Use the correct methods, plans, and tools to help keep local or national data, people, buildings, and items safe.
Do simple repairs on tools to keep them ready to use.
Inspect, wash, check, and care for vehicles and equipment.
Fill out a digital log to keep track of daily events.
Do safety checks to keep the workplace safe.
Fill out standard forms.
Attend meetings for the Department’s Safety Committee.
Drive and use big, specialized vehicles to get to emergencies as instructed.
Use different machines to lift, lower, reach buildings, and free people or things during emergencies.
Make sure fire trucks and emergency tools work well and safely to save lives and property.
Help with fire and safety education, inspections, and drills.
Make sure everyone follows safety rules by doing needed checks during shifts.
Requirements:
Make sure safety checks are done, that workers get, use, and keep up their safety gear as they should, and that everyone follows the rules and instructions meant to keep them safe and prevent accidents.
Needed skills, background, and abilities:
Must have at least a Grade 12 education.
IFSAC Accreditation is necessary.
Must have NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2 certification.
Firefighter II Certification is a must.
Firefighting training and at least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience are critical.
A valid C1 driver’s license with a PrDP is required.
Experience with advanced driving is a plus.
Must be in good medical and physical condition.
A solid grasp and application of fire prevention methods are needed.
Must know about fire-fighting systems (specifically how fires are put out, and the types and science of fire).
Must have a clean criminal record.
Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies.
Skills in administration, talking to people, and dealing with customers are required.
Experience and knowledge of hazardous materials are essential.
EMT certification is necessary.
Must have First Aid levels 1 to 3.

This firefighters position demands a candidate with strong communication abilities, both oral and written. The individual must be proficient at articulating complex information in a clear, concise, and easily understandable manner. This includes the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders, as well as the capability to produce well-written reports, memos, and other necessary documentation.
A crucial requirement is a thorough understanding of hazardous materials handling protocols. The firefighters candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols pertaining to the safe handling, storage, and disposal of dangerous substances. This includes familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE), spill containment procedures, and hazard communication standards.
Furthermore, a solid grounding in the security industry is essential. The candidate must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of security principles, practices, and procedures, including risk assessment, threat mitigation, and security protocols. Critically, they must possess a strong understanding of and unwavering commitment to adhering to both company-specific security policies and all applicable government regulations related to security operations. This includes a working knowledge of relevant laws, codes, and standards.
Finally, the candidate should possess a foundational understanding of fire safety and training principles, particularly as they apply to practical, hands-on instruction. While not necessarily requiring a full certification as a fire fighter instructor, the candidate should be familiar with basic teaching methodologies, safe demonstration techniques, and the principles of adult learning. This knowledge will be invaluable when providing on-the-job training and guidance related to fire safety and emergency response procedures.
