The curriculum for the upcoming year includes three distinct programs, each catering to different levels of expertise and career aspirations.
First, the school will offer the Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing R.169. This certificate program provides a foundational understanding of nursing principles and practices, preparing students to assist registered nurses in providing direct patient care. Key areas of focus will include basic patient hygiene, vital signs monitoring, and assistance with activities of daily living. Graduates of this program will be well-prepared to work as valuable members of healthcare teams in a variety of settings.
For those seeking a more in-depth and comprehensive nursing education, the Diploma in General Nursing R.171 will also be available. This diploma program offers a broader range of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling graduates to provide direct nursing care to patients across diverse populations and healthcare settings. The curriculum will cover topics such as anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, and mental health nursing. Upon completion, graduates will be eligible to register as professional nurses and pursue rewarding careers in hospitals, clinics, and community health centers.
Finally, the State School of Nursing is proud to offer the Advanced Diploma in Midwifery R.1497. This advanced program is designed for registered nurses who wish to specialize in the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The curriculum will provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills in areas such as antenatal care, labor and delivery management, and neonatal care. Graduates of this program will be highly skilled and knowledgeable midwives, capable of providing comprehensive and compassionate care to mothers and newborns.
Application Process for Prospective Students
We are pleased to announce the commencement of the application process for prospective students. Applications will officially open on May 1st, 2025, providing interested individuals with the opportunity to submit their credentials and express their interest in joining our esteemed institution. Please be aware that the application window will remain open for a limited time, concluding on July 31st, 2025. It is crucial to ensure that your application is submitted before this deadline to be considered for further evaluation.
Following the close of applications, a thorough review process will be undertaken to identify candidates who meet the stipulated eligibility criteria. Candidates who demonstrate the necessary qualifications will subsequently receive an invitation to participate in a mandatory literacy test. This test is designed to assess critical reading and writing skills essential for academic success. The literacy test will be administered over a period of five days, from October 6th to October 10th, 2025, allowing candidates flexibility in scheduling their participation. Specific details regarding the test format, location (whether online or in person), and timing will be communicated to invited candidates well in advance.
Applicants who achieve a satisfactory score on the literacy test will advance to the next stage of the selection process. The admissions committee will carefully evaluate all successful applications, taking into account academic achievements, personal statements, and other relevant factors. Successful applicants will be officially informed of their admission status between December 1st and December 11th, 2025.
