  • Locations: Two positions are available at each of the following locations:
    • Botshabelo Haven Old Age Home (x2 Posts) – Providing care and support to elderly residents.
    • Leratong Child and Youth Care Centre (CYC) (x2 Posts) – Contributing to a safe and nurturing environment for children and youth in need.

Job Description:

As a Laundry Aid, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of linens and clothing used by residents at either the Botshabelo Haven Old Age Home or the Leratong CYC. Your duties will include:

  • Collecting soiled laundry from designated areas.
  • Sorting laundry according to fabric type, color, and washing instructions.
  • Operating washing machines and dryers, ensuring proper settings are used.
  • Folding, ironing, and organizing clean laundry.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
  • Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Assisting with other related tasks as required by your supervisor.

Requirements:

  • The candidate must possess an NQF Level 3 qualification (Grade 10 certificate or its equivalent). A higher qualification in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in a laundry environment is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
  • Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and effectively.
  • Good understanding of laundry detergents and cleaning products.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to hygiene.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the tasks associated with the role, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • A genuine desire to help others and a compassionate attitude.
