Job Overview
Nurture Montana in Gauteng is seeking a skilled and passionate Speech Therapist to join its Therapy Group Practice at the newly commissioned, 36-bed physical rehabilitation hospital. This facility specializes in providing comprehensive care for individuals with a variety of disabilities caused by injuries or diseases, such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, and more.

The Speech Therapist will play a key role in the rehabilitation journey, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based therapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Provide therapy for patients with neurological conditions, tracheotomies, and other complex needs.
- Collaborate with the broader rehabilitation team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Prepare detailed assessment and weekly progress reports for medical funders.
- Contribute to the professional development of the rehabilitation team by sharing expertise and providing leadership.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Registration:
- Current HPCSA registration and malpractice insurance.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in physical rehabilitation.
- Expertise or special interest in neurological conditions.
- Experience working with tracheotomized patients.
- Other:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
- Up-to-date CPD status.

- Language Skills:
- Proficiency in written and spoken English. (Knowledge of Afrikaans and Xhosa is advantageous.)
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and preparing detailed medical funder reports.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within a team setting.
- Leadership abilities to guide and upskill colleagues.
