Detailed Job Description: Security Officer – [Location of Estate]
Fidelity position is for a dedicated and reliable Security Officer to join our team at the prestigious [Name of Residential Estate, if applicable, or just “our Residential Estate”]. The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, guests, and staff by patrolling the premises, controlling access, responding to incidents, and enforcing regulations. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong sense of responsibility and excellent communication skills.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
The Fidelity ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and competencies:
- Education: A minimum of a Grade 10 education is required. This is to ensure the candidate possesses basic literacy and numeracy skills necessary for understanding procedures, writing reports, and communicating effectively.
- Security Accreditation and Registration: The Fidelity candidate must hold a Grade C/B/A security accreditation and be currently registered with the relevant security industry regulatory body. This certification ensures the candidate has undergone the required training and possesses the fundamental knowledge and skills to perform security duties effectively and legally. Proof of current registration is mandatory.
- Hospitality/Residential Estates Experience: Experience working within a hospitality or residential estate environment is ESSENTIAL. Candidates must demonstrate a clear understanding of the unique security challenges and protocols specific to these types of settings. This includes familiarity with access control procedures for residents, guests, and contractors, as well as an understanding of maintaining a balance between security and customer service.
- Security Industry Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrable experience within the security industry is required. This experience should include practical application of security procedures, incident response, and conflict resolution. Proven experience in patrolling, access control, and surveillance is highly desirable.
- Criminal Record: Candidates must have a clean criminal record. A background check will be conducted as part of the recruitment process. Any prior convictions may disqualify applicants.
- Criminal Checks: The successful candidate must be willing to undergo criminal background checks regularly throughout their employment. This is to ensure continued adherence to security protocols and maintain the safety and well-being of the residential estate community.
- Physical Fitness: The role requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. Security Officers are expected to patrol the premises on foot, respond to incidents quickly, and potentially engage in physical intervention if necessary and within legal boundaries. Candidates should be able to stand, walk, and run for extended periods.
- Residential Proximity: To ensure timely response to incidents and promote a sense of community integration, the candidate MUST reside in the area where the position has been advertised. Please clearly indicate your residential address on your application.
