Position Overview:

As a Studio Sales Assistant, you will be an integral part of our retail team, playing a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and upholding the highest store standards. You will be the face of Studio 88, assisting customers in navigating our product selection, processing transactions efficiently, and ensuring a positive and memorable shopping experience that fosters customer loyalty. Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement & Service: Greet customers warmly and proactively offer assistance, providing expert advice and guidance on product selection based on their needs and preferences. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through attentive and personalized service.
- Sales Generation: Actively contribute to achieving and exceeding individual and store sales targets. Utilize effective sales techniques, including suggestive selling and upselling, to maximize sales opportunities.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of Studio 88’s product lines, including clothing, footwear, and accessories, as well as current fashion trends, brands, sizes, and styles.
- Transaction Processing: Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including handling cash, credit card payments, and returns.
- Visual Merchandising & Store Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a visually appealing and organized store environment, including restocking apparel, folding and organizing clothing, and ensuring a clean, tidy, and safe shopping atmosphere. Follow visual merchandising guidelines to optimize product placement and presentation.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control procedures, including receiving shipments, organizing stockrooms, conducting spot checks, and ensuring accurate stock levels on the sales floor.
- Loss Prevention: Adhere to loss prevention policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage and maintain the security of the store and its inventory.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve store objectives and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and issues in a timely and professional manner, escalating complex issues to the Store Manager as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate or equivalent qualification is essential.
Experience Required:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience in a sales-oriented environment is required.
- Previous experience working in a retail environment, particularly in clothing stores, is highly advantageous.
- A demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Hands-on experience in providing support to a sales team, including restocking merchandise, maintaining visual displays, and ensuring store cleanliness.
- Proven proficiency in handling cash transactions, processing payments, and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Familiarity with stock control procedures, including organizing stockrooms and conducting inventory checks.
Skills Required:
- Exceptional Interpersonal & Customer Service Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers, actively listen to their needs, and provide personalized service that exceeds their expectations.
- Sales & Persuasion Skills: Ability to effectively communicate product benefits and features, confidently close sales, and maximize sales opportunities through upselling and cross-selling techniques.
- Product Knowledge Expertise: Have a comprehensive understanding of clothing products, brands, sizes, and current fashion trends to effectively assist customers with their purchasing decisions.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the role, from processing transactions to maintaining store standards.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrate the ability to think critically, analyze situations, and resolve customer issues effectively and efficiently.
