Job Summary:
Greenway farm are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and order of our office spaces and accommodation facilities in Bokpoort. This is a permanent, full-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and pleasant environment for employees, guests, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines. The employee will be responsible for the orderly condition and upkeep of the guest houses as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning:
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize all office areas, including workstations, common areas, hallways, meeting rooms, and reception areas.
- Clean all accommodation facilities to a high standard, including bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, and kitchens.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors, paying close attention to detail in high-traffic areas.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment to maintain a professional appearance.
- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and dispose of waste properly.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors to ensure a streak-free finish.
- Maintenance:
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening loose screws, and unclogging drains (training will be provided).
- Regularly replace air filters in designated areas to maintain air quality.
- Proactively identify and report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the appropriate personnel (e.g., broken fixtures, leaks, malfunctioning equipment).
- Sanitation and Hygiene:
- Disinfect and sanitize high-touch areas, such as door handles, light switches, elevator buttons, and shared equipment, to prevent the spread of germs.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring that all supplies (e.g., soap, paper towels, toilet paper) are replenished regularly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen and break room areas, including cleaning appliances, wiping down counters, and ensuring proper food storage.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and carpet cleaners, safely and effectively.
- Use chemical cleaning agents safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Safety and Security:
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Proactively identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain the security of the premises by ensuring that doors and windows are locked when leaving an area.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate is essential.
- A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience as a Cleaner, preferably in an office or accommodation setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment, and the safe and effective methods for their use.
