About the Opportunity:
MPRTC Recruitment is representing a leading macadamia processing facility in Levubu, Limpopo, in their search for a highly skilled and dedicated Electrical Maintenance Technician. This pivotal role is crucial in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of the facility’s machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will be a hands-on individual with a proactive approach to maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of processing equipment, including motors, sensors, control systems, and power distribution systems.
- Preventative Maintenance: Implement and adhere to a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime, extend equipment lifespan, and optimize performance.
- Equipment Installation & Upgrades: Assist in the installation, commissioning, and upgrading of new and existing electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Facility Maintenance: Contribute to the overall maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including lighting, power systems, and other electrical infrastructure.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Proactively identify and address potential safety hazards.
- External Area Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and safety of the facility’s external areas, ensuring proper lighting, security systems, and overall cleanliness.
- Risk & Disaster Management: Participate in risk assessment and disaster management efforts, contributing to the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Prepare reports on equipment performance and maintenance schedules.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other maintenance personnel, production staff, and management to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
Essential Requirements:

- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- Certification: Must hold a valid Red Seal certification as a Millwright or Electrician.
- Technical Skills: NQF Level 1-3 in Electrical Engineering (highly advantageous). Demonstrated proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in the use of computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and ideally, CAD software.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Afrikaans, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Driver’s License: Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
- Practical Skills: Demonstrated practical skills in welding, grinding, and general equipment handling. Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Technical Aptitude: Tech-savvy with a strong willingness to stay updated on evolving factory technologies and advancements in the field of electrical maintenance.
