Introduction:

This Learner is an intensive training program designed to equip unemployed learner individuals with valuable skills and knowledge within the production and maintenance field. This learner program is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to gain practical experience and a nationally recognized qualification, leading to improved employability. This program offers theoretical instruction coupled with hands-on experience.

OBJECTIVE:

The primary objective of this program is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of various production and maintenance processes. Participants will develop practical skills in the following areas:

• Teamwork and Collaboration: Learner effective communication and collaborative skills to work effectively as part of a production team. Understand roles and responsibilities within a team environment.
• Safe Use of Hand Tools: Master the safe and efficient use of a variety of hand tools commonly used in production and maintenance settings. Emphasis will be placed on safety protocols and proper tool maintenance.
• Assembly and Fabrication: Gain hands-on experience in assembling components and fabricating products according to specifications. This includes understanding assembly techniques and quality control measures.
• Blueprint Reading and Marking: Develop the ability to interpret technical drawings (blueprints) and accurately mark materials for cutting, assembly, and fabrication. Understand different types of drawings and their applications.
• Basic Welding Techniques: Receive introductory training in welding processes, including safety procedures, equipment operation, and basic welding techniques for joining metal components.
• Machine Operation and Monitoring: Learner to operate and monitor production machinery, understanding their functions, maintenance requirements, and safety protocols. Develop skills in troubleshooting basic machine malfunctions.
• Surface Preparation: Acquire skills in preparing surfaces for painting, coating, or other finishing processes. This includes cleaning, sanding, and applying primers.
• Fire Safety and Prevention: Receive training in fire safety procedures, including fire prevention, fire extinguisher operation, and emergency response protocols.
• Material Handling and Logistics: Learner the safe and efficient methods of moving and handling products within a production environment, including packaging, labeling, and preparing products for shipment. Develop skills in inventory management and logistics.
• Introduction to Lean Manufacturing: Introduction to the principles of Leaner Manufacturing to increase production efficiency.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE NEEDED (Minimum Requirements):

Applicants should possess the following minimum qualifications:

• Formal Education: National Technical Certificate [N3 – N6] OR High School/Technical High School diploma with a strong foundation in Mathematics & Science or Engineering Science.
• Relevant Subjects: A background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automotive studies, and/or Drawing & Design is highly advantageous.
• Physical Abilities: Capability to lift and carry materials within a workshop environment.
• Safety Awareness: Understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
