Werkie is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join its finance team in Linbro Park, Sandton. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and oversee reporting up to the balance sheet stage. Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and reconcile accounts to the balance sheet stage.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure operational efficiency and sufficient funds for business needs.

Problem-Solving & Collaboration

  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies and issues promptly.
  • Work closely with the finance team and other departments to integrate financial processes seamlessly.
  • Assist with audit preparation by ensuring complete and accurate documentation of financial records.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports to provide insights and identify trends for the sales manager.
  • Continuously recommend and implement improvements to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, or equivalent) or substantial work experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper with expertise in financial reporting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage), Microsoft Excel, and other office tools.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve financial discrepancies effectively.
