This crucial G4S role reports directly to the Office Manager and is instrumental in upholding the professional image and operational efficiency of our workplace.

Role Responsibility: Cleaning and Maintenance Officer

Main Purpose of the Role:

The G4S primary purpose of this role is to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the Head Office Building, and potentially other company buildings as required. This includes, but is not limited to, daily cleaning and upkeep tasks, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and actively participating in health and safety initiatives to protect the well-being of all employees and visitors. The G4S Cleaning and Maintenance Officer is responsible for creating a positive and professional impression of the company through the consistent maintenance of the physical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Cleaning and Upkeep: Perform comprehensive cleaning duties throughout the G4S Head Office Building and/or other designated buildings. This includes:
    • Thorough cleaning of staff offices, including dusting, vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, emptying trash receptacles, and ensuring a tidy workspace.
    • Cleaning and sanitizing training venues before and after use, ensuring they are presentable and ready for training sessions.
    • Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of restrooms, including cleaning toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
    • Cleaning lobbies, reception areas, and common areas to maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
    • Cleaning windows, glass partitions, and doors to ensure visibility and a clean appearance.
    • Vacuuming and mopping floors, paying attention to high-traffic areas.
    • Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant sections of the G4S Head Office cleaning contract requirements on a daily basis. This includes:
    • Understanding the specific cleaning standards and frequencies outlined in the contract.
    • Meeting or exceeding the required level of cleanliness and hygiene.
    • Documenting cleaning activities as required by the contract.
    • Reporting any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
  • Equipment and Materials Management: Effectively control and manage all cleaning equipment and materials, including:
    • Proper storage and maintenance of cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, mops, and cleaning solutions.
    • Ensuring equipment is in good working order and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
    • Using cleaning materials in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.

  • Procurement and Requisitioning: Requisition the purchase of additional cleaning materials and supplies as needed. This includes:
