Job Description:
A Security Guard job is open within the Protection Services at Kruger National Park. The person in this role will report to the Security guard Supervisor.

What you need:
A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate, plus at least a Grade C, D, and E Security Certificate with a current PSIRA registration.
At least two years of work experience as a Security Guard.
Must know how to use security tools.
Must know about wildlife-related crimes.
Must have a driver’s license that is valid.
Must be very familiar with and good at keeping a building or area safe.
Must be able to protect people and property.
Must be in good physical shape and will have to pass a fitness test.
Able to easily notice things that seem wrong or out of place.
Must know a lot about first aid.
Good at talking and writing to others.
Knowing how to use guns and having a gun license is a plus.
Your Duties:
Your duties include protecting the park and its buildings from emergencies or violence, and reporting anything that seems strange.
Watch over the area and stop any unwanted behavior.
Write down the names of everyone who enters the park in the logbook.
Protect the assigned area to find signs of people entering illegally and ensure nothing has been changed or stolen.
Tell your Shift Supervisor, Security Supervisor, Chief Security Officer, or Protection Services Manager about anything unusual.
Control who comes in and out at all entrances, making sure only approved people and vehicles are allowed to enter.
Randomly check vehicles leaving or entering the park for stolen items.
Provide security at gates and events, including searches, parking, and managing crowds.
Regularly patrol all areas, search people entering or leaving the park, and complete other assigned tasks.
