About the Role:
As a Shop Assistant Cashier, you’ll be at the heart of our store, directly interacting with customers and ensuring they have a pleasant and efficient shopping experience. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement and Assistance: Greet customers with a warm and welcoming attitude, actively listen to their needs, and assist them in locating merchandise. Provide helpful information about products, promotions, and store policies. Go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Transaction Management: Efficiently and accurately process sales transactions using our point-of-sale (POS) system, including handling cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment. Issue receipts and provide accurate change to customers. Be vigilant in preventing errors and minimizing discrepancies.
- Store Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and surrounding store environment. Restock shelves, displays, and bagging areas as needed. Ensure merchandise is neatly presented and properly priced.
- Problem Solving: Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner. Escalate complex issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution.
- Loss Prevention: Be aware of potential security risks and follow established procedures to prevent theft and loss.

Needed to be considered for the job:
- A high school certificate
- Experience as a cashier, in sales, retail, customer service, as a store assistant or associate, or as a retail salesperson
- Live within 15km of the job location
- No criminal history
