  • Closing Date: 15 June 2025. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
  • Location: Gauteng, South Africa. The learnership will primarily take place at Vodacom facilities and partner organizations within the Gauteng province.
  • Duration: This is a 12-month contract, providing ample time for intensive training and hands-on experience.
  • Category: Learnership. This programme is designed to provide structured learning and practical application, leading to a recognized qualification.
  • Stipend: A monthly allowance will be provided to cover basic living expenses during the learnership. The specific amount will be communicated to successful candidates. This stipend is intended to support your participation and focus on learning.

Who Are We Looking For?

This learnership is specifically targeted towards young individuals with a passion for environmental stewardship and a desire to contribute to a more sustainable future. To be considered for this valuable opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizenship and Residency: You must be a South African citizen and a resident of Gauteng. Proof of residency, such as a utility bill or letter from a ward councilor, is required.
  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application.
  • Educational Qualifications: You must hold a Matric certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent) with either Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, and Science as subjects. A strong foundation in these subjects is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of e-waste management.
  • Socio-Economic Background: Preference will be given to applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a particular focus on individuals who attended Quintile 1–3 schools. This is part of Vodacom’s commitment to empowering individuals from underserved communities.
  • Employment Status: You must be currently unemployed and not enrolled in any other learnership or educational programme. This learnership requires your full-time commitment.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy is essential. You should be comfortable using basic software applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and navigating the internet. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are also vital for effective collaboration and information sharing.
  • Personal Attributes: We are seeking highly motivated individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to a team. A positive attitude, a willingness to take initiative, and a genuine interest in environmental issues are highly valued.
