Job Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking experienced Store Cleaners for their new store at Westown Square. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the store, including the store floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen, all in line with Dis-Chem’s hygienic standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- General Cleaning:
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the store, including the store floor, stock rooms, dispensary, offices, and communal areas before the store opens each day. - Routine Cleaning:
Develop cleaning routines to ensure all areas of the store are consistently maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. - Canteen & Restroom Hygiene:
Ensure the canteen and restrooms are clean, well-stocked with necessary products, and maintained throughout the day. - Operational Cleaning:
Be available during operational hours to perform cleaning tasks as needed. - Health and Safety Compliance:
Perform cleaning duties in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations. - Customer Assistance:
Maintain a friendly and professional attitude, ready to assist customers when necessary. - Signage:
Ensure the wet floor sign is placed in visible areas during cleaning.
Minimum Requirements
- Essential Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum of 6 months’ cleaning experience
- Basic customer service skills
- Sound command of the English language
- Ability to work retail hours
- Advantageous Qualifications:
- Bilingual
- Previous retail store cleaning experience
