Job Title: Stockroom Associate
Job Summary:
CASHBUILD1 are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Stockroom Associate to manage the flow of merchandise into and out of our store. In this CASHBUILD1 role, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of all incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring that products are properly received, recorded, and prepared for display on the sales floor. You will work closely with suppliers, other store locations, and our sales team to maintain optimal inventory levels and support a positive shopping experience for our customers. Your CASHBUILD1 role is critical in maintaining an organized and efficient stockroom, contributing to the overall success of our retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Processing Shipments: Accurately receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments from suppliers and other store locations against packing slips and purchase orders. Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate parties.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records using CASHBUILD1 computer system. Record received goods promptly and accurately, ensuring data integrity and enabling efficient tracking of stock levels.
- Stock Labeling: Properly label all incoming items with necessary product information, pricing, and any other required identifiers to facilitate easy identification and retrieval.
- Stockroom Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient stockroom environment. Ensure that all products are stored safely and systematically, maximizing space utilization and minimizing the risk of damage.
- Sales Floor Replenishment: Prioritize and expedite the movement of stock from the stockroom to the sales floor to ensure adequate product availability for customers. Work with the sales team to understand product needs and prioritize accordingly.
- Outgoing Shipments: CASHBUILD1 Prepare and package outgoing shipments to suppliers or other store locations, ensuring proper handling and documentation to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with suppliers, other store locations, and internal teams to resolve any issues related to stock levels, shipments, or product availability.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and handling merchandise, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a stockroom, warehouse, or retail environment is preferred. Alternatively, we will consider candidates with at least two years of related experience in a similar role.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Fluency in the main language of the local area is highly desirable to facilitate communication with diverse suppliers and customers.
- Mathematical Skills: Possess strong basic math skills, including the ability to perform calculations related to inventory management, pricing, and shipping.
- Customer Service: Demonstrated history of providing excellent customer service, even in a back-of-house role, as occasional interactions with customers may occur.
- Stress Management: Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective under pressure, particularly during peak seasons or periods of high demand.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computers and inventory management software is essential. Must be comfortable with data entry, record keeping, and generating reports. Experience with specific inventory management systems is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds may be required.
- Availability: Must be flexible and available to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the business.
