Job Overview

Nurture Health is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our newly commissioned 36-bed physical rehabilitation hospital in Montana, Gauteng. Our organization specializes in providing medical care, acute and sub-acute rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities caused by diseases or injuries, such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, and more.

Requirements, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Education:
    • BSc Occupational Therapy / Occupational Therapy (Community Year Completed).
    • Registered with the HPCSA (as an independent practitioner) and Malpractice Insurance.
    • Maintain CPD standing as per HPCSA requirements.
  • Training and Skills:
    • Bobath/NDT training (beneficial).
    • Basic and intermediate wheelchair training (advantageous).
    • Special interest and broad experience in:
      • Orthopedic rehabilitation.
      • Neurology (CVA/TBI and SCI).
      • Vocational readiness.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a physical rehabilitation environment.
    • Experience coordinating projects, services, or teams.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of clinical practices in physical rehabilitation.
  • Familiarity with the ICF Framework.
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Awareness of evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Computer literacy (beginner/intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, setting joint goals and fostering therapeutic relationships.
  • Available for weekend or public holiday work on a rotational schedule.
