Werkie seeks a detail-oriented, proactive Junior Fleet Controller to join their dynamic team in Linbro Park, Sandton.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management
- Oversee the daily operations of a fleet exceeding 400 vehicles to ensure efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Track vehicle locations, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption for optimal operations.
Maintenance Coordination
- Schedule and coordinate regular servicing, inspections, and repairs for all vehicles.
- Ensure all vehicles are compliant with maintenance schedules and regulatory standards.
Communication
- Act as the primary liaison between drivers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Communicate vehicle statuses, maintenance updates, and logistical information effectively.
Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date licenses, permits, and insurance for the entire fleet.
- Ensure adherence to all legal, safety, and regulatory standards.
Reporting
- Generate detailed reports on fleet performance, maintenance records, and operational issues.
- Analyze trends and provide actionable insights to improve performance.
Problem Solving
- Address and resolve fleet-related issues, such as breakdowns or disruptions, promptly.
- Develop strategies to mitigate operational risks and ensure smooth workflow.
Fleet Optimization
- Collaborate with the team to implement cost-reduction strategies.
- Enhance overall fleet efficiency and performance.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience as a Fleet Controller, managing a fleet of 400+ vehicles.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage high-pressure situations efficiently.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements for fleet operations.
- A team-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
