Requirements
- Qualification: Appropriate Electrical Trade Test Certificate.
- Experience: Five (5) years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan.
- License: Valid, unexpired driver’s license.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Technical analysis and computer-aided applications.
- Legal compliance and knowledge of prescribed legislation (Occupational Health and Safety Act, PMDS, PFMA).
- Skills in technical report writing, problem-solving, conflict management, and planning.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Experience in SCADA/PLC systems, telemetry, and cathodic protection (TRUs).
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Maintenance:
- Maintain bulk raw water infrastructure, including dams, reservoirs, departmental houses, pump stations, and pipelines.
- Perform electrical maintenance and inspections of cathodic protection systems.
- Technical Operations:
- Inspect equipment for faults and repair as per standards.
- Conduct fault diagnosis on SCADA/PLC systems and telemetry.
- Implement planned maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Update maintenance logbooks and compile required reports.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance measures.
- Supervision and Training:
- Supervise and mentor team members.
- Stay updated on new technologies and processes.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to and enforce safety regulations.
- Contribute to risk assessment and disaster recovery plans.
